The Experience

Zim Is Now – A Coca-Cola Showcase of Zimbabwe

I proudly contributed as a local producer and fixer for "Zim Is Now," a Coca-Cola-sponsored documentary highlighting Zimbabwe's potential as a foreign investment destination. This dynamic project brought together a talented crew from Ahoy Films, featuring individuals from South Africa, Kenya, and Zambia, demonstrating a powerful example of cross-border collaboration.

My role with Invision Studios, involved coordinating with multiple stakeholders across Zimbabwe, fostering cooperation that ensured the documentary's impactful message resonated.

Showcasing the nation's economic opportunities and vibrant culture, this project holds a special place in my heart as a Zimbabwean passionate about promoting my home country.

Delaying Marriage, Empowering Girls – The Maud Chifamba Story

As a local producer and fixer for this inspiring documentary by Population Solutions for Zimbabwe (PSH), I had the privilege of bringing to life the extraordinary journey of Maud Chifamba, a beacon of hope for young girls and their communities. Maud's story exemplifies how delaying marriage until 18 empowers girls to reach their full potential.

Working with Invision Studios, our collaboration with a talented crew from Zambia and South Africa ensured every element of Maud's narrative was captured with authenticity and emotional depth. Working closely with Maud herself was an honor, as her resilience and determination left a lasting impression on me.

This documentary not only celebrates Maud's achievements but also shines a spotlight on the critical issues of early child marriage and female empowerment in Zimbabwe. It's a testament to the power of storytelling to evoke change and inspire action.

Mapping Zimbabwe for Google Street View

I had the privilege of serving as a local producer and fixer for a Google-produced documentary chronicling Tawanda Kanhema's journey to capture 360-degree imagery of Zimbabwe for Google Street View.

Tawanda, a Zimbabwean native, embarked on a personal mission to visually document his homeland, bridging the digital divide and sharing the vibrancy of daily life in Zimbabwe beyond the well-known tourist destinations.

The documentary follows Tawanda as he retraces his roots, navigates logistical challenges, and collaborates with a passionate Google team crew which consisted of James Mulcahy, Christopher Chafic Saad, Casey James Michael Curry, and Invision Studios from Zimbabwe.

Witness the power of technology to connect communities, preserve cultural heritage, and empower individuals to tell their stories.

Love Shouldn't Hurt – Promoting Peace in Zimbabwe

During the challenging COVID-19 pandemic, I served as a local producer and fixer for "Love Shouldn't Hurt," a powerful documentary initiative aimed at fostering a safe space for all Zimbabweans to find non-violent solutions to conflict.

Collaborating with Zimbabwe's Invision Studios and South Africa's Ahoy Films , we assembled a diverse film crew from South Africa, Kenya, and Tanzania, uniting talents to address this crucial issue. Despite the obstacles presented by the pandemic, the project's message resonated deeply within communities, making it one of the most impactful endeavors I've been a part of.

The performers did an excellent job by fully immersing themselves into this heart touching reality that faces many households.

I remain proud of the ongoing work by Population Solutions for Health (PSH) in continuing this important conversation and promoting peaceful resolutions.

Melody's Story: A Child Bride's Reality – Confronting Early Marriage in Zimbabwe

As a local producer and fixer for this touching documentary by Population Solutions for Zimbabwe (PSH), I delved into the heart-wrenching reality of child marriage in Zimbabwe through the story of Melody Gatakata. Married off at just 15 years old, Melody's experience reflects the struggles faced by countless girls across the country.

Along with Invision Studios and our collaboration with a dedicated crew from Zambia and South Africa, we captured Melody's resilience and strength as she navigated the challenges of early marriage. This collaboration brought to light the urgent need to address child marriage and empower young girls to pursue their dreams.

"Melody's Story" is a powerful call to action, urging viewers to confront the issue of child marriage head-on and advocate for the rights of girls to choose their own futures.
